This site has several databases that are available to perform certain statistical analyses.
Federal Courts
Search a database of about 5 million federal district-court civil cases terminated over the last 22 fiscal years.
The data were gathered by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts,
assembled by the Federal Judicial Center, and disseminated by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research.Federal District-Court Civil Cases

- All Cases (limited to cases from one year at a time, from fiscal 1987 onward. )

State Courts
These databases utilize a sampling that comprises about 6.5 thousand state tort, contract, and real property cases terminated during fiscal 1992 by means of a jury trial in the general jurisdiction trial court of 45 of the nation's most populous counties. The data were gathered and assembled by the National Center for State Courts and disseminated by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research.
